- Sun cream
- Impregnated Mosquito net
- Insect repellent (lots!)
- Basic toiletry bag
- Medical kit including anti- diarrhoea tablets and oral re-hydration treatment
- Alarm clock/watch
- Torch
- Photocopy of passport and important items
- Address book
- Sleeping sheet
- Projects Abroad Office contact details
- Money belt
- Breathable waterproof jacket especially in the rainy season, June - September
- Day rucksack
- Guide book Bradt Guide is good
- Towel
- A few good novels
- Swimming gear
- Water bottle
- Small padlock
- 'Dressy' clothes for the occasional big night out there is quite a lively social scene especially in Accra

- Smart casual clothes
- Men: Short/long sleeved shirts, trousers, sandals/shoes - not flip flops
- Women: Skirts/ trousers, blouses - please make sure that you do not expose your mid-rift/ shoulders
- Small English grammar book and teaching materials
